Yesterday we went on a short trip to watch the eclipse as a company outing. I don’t know much about eclipses and I don’t think I’d have made the time and effort to see it otherwise, so I’m happy we had this.
It’s obvious in retrospect but no one told me you’re supposed to take your glasses off while it’s happening, so I missed like 20-30 seconds of it. I’m sad about it because it was one of the prettiest things I’ve seen and I wish I burned it better in my mind. Not only the halo in the sky, but the way the horizon was pink and the way everyone in the ground was unnaturally lit – it’s stuff you only see in art, but it was right there and real.
Pretty dang cool. Sky was so big, too. People were upset that it was cloudy but I think it just made it cooler
